Delete Your Account

We respect your right to control your data. If you wish to delete your Dame account and all associated data, you can do so using one of the methods described below.
How to Delete Your Account
Option 1: Delete from the App (Recommended)
The fastest way to delete your account is directly from the Dame app:
- Open the Dame app
- Go to Settings
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account
- Confirm your decision when prompted
Your account and data will be deleted immediately.
Option 2: Email Request
If you cannot access the app or prefer to request deletion via email, contact us at:
Email: privacy@damehq.com
Please include the email address associated with your Dame account. We will process your request within 30 days and send confirmation once deletion is complete.
What Data Is Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our servers:
- Your profile: Name, email address, profile photo, and account settings
- Your household memberships: You will be removed from all households
- Tasks you created: All tasks where you are the sole owner
- Chores you created: All chores where you are the sole owner
- Events you created: All events where you are the sole owner
- Messages: Your messages are deleted from our servers
- Sync data: All synchronization records associated with your account
- Authentication credentials: Your sign-in connection is removed
What Data May Be Retained
Some data may remain after account deletion:
- Shared content: Tasks, chores, or events that were assigned to or shared with other household members may remain visible to them, as they are co-owners of that data
- Local copies: Other household members may retain local copies of messages on their devices
- Anonymized analytics: Aggregate, non-identifiable usage data that cannot be linked back to you
Data Retention Period
- Immediate deletion: Your profile and account data are deleted immediately upon request
- Sync queue: Pending sync operations are processed and deleted within 30 days
- Backups: Your data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being permanently purged
Before You Delete
Please consider the following before deleting your account:
- Export your data: You can export your data from the app before deletion if you want to keep a personal copy
- Household ownership: If you are the sole owner of a household, that household will be deleted along with all its data. Consider transferring ownership to another member first.
- This action is permanent: Account deletion cannot be undone. You will need to create a new account if you wish to use Dame again.
